The cabin was tiny and rustic. Although generally clean, the housekeeping did not show an attention to detail with cobwebs and dust in the less obvious to clean places. ||The common area facilities/amenities are outdated, appear neglected and could be great with a little investment and elbow grease. We could overlook all that though as after all, this is "camping" not the 4 Seasons. We could not figure out how to get the TV to work and borrowed a CD from the lodge and that made for a nice evening. We also enjoyed some ping pong and the pool table in the lodge. Although we did not swim in the pool, we checked it out and it looked really nice. Water temp felt refreshing! ||||The campground is in a beautiful and convenient location just off I80 on the western side of Donner Summit. It has a pretty lake that is apparently stocked for fishing in the spring but we were advised that it was pretty much fished out by Sept. We very much enjoyed sitting in our camp chairs on the waters edge sipping our morning coffee as that's exactly the get away we were in search of. We paddle boarded and kayaked around the lake for a while and it was great. There is a much larger lake (Lake Valley Reservoir) a short distance away that we checked out briefly and will definitely return to paddleboard on next time. ||||As it's only about an hour from where we live in Reno and we bought the "annual cabin pass" we will be back to Snowflower Lake often. It's a perfect quick getaway.

Lovely & clean cabin, fully stocked. I always bring a universal flat tub plug & my own dish towels. I accidentally returned home with the property’s plug & dish towel, along with my own! Oops! They’re in the mail!||Wonderful, friendly staff. Live music under the stars, even though it is now off season. All ages and dogs out enjoying! Snowflower is a Happy Place.

The staff was lovely and the campground is well kept. A couple of things to note for your visit:

1) pack winter clothing for the summer, it gets very cold here, even in the summer (30s-50s)! It's too cold for swimming but the lake is nice to look at!

2) the trees are non stop with shredding and weeping sap, which I guess requires a special oil based cleaner to remove... so, next time, I'm definitely staying in the paved lot area.

3) you're really remote from basic needs and Truckee is very very small and very very very crowded so you really need to go to Reno for basics... so stock up before arriving.

if you keep this all in mind, you'll have a wonderful trip!!

The staff are doing their best. They are super friendly. Can’t ask for better Saturday music. The pool is prestige. The bathrooms has the best voyuers, mini frogs. Great job everyone trying to enforce rules.

Really enjoyed our visit! It was quiet, clean and we even caught trout! Can’t wait to visit there again. Views were amazing and we’ve met so many really nice Thousand Trails members that all have said very good things about membership.

I was super hopeful my campsite would be nice, as the location is great. But, after dragging my travel trailer up there and searching for hours (on a gravel road, in 4wd), I realized the lack of decent spots (that were available) and amenities was not worth the trouble. I paid for reservations for 3 nights, but was on my own to find an open site. If you value a decent camping experience, try another place. If you are deserapte, I guess this might do. I was not desperate.

We love Snowflower. Beautiful mountains, great place to hike. Nice little lake. They always have a lot of power issues and small trailers using big sites. To bad they don't work on those issues.
