Moving on with Old man river

I had the chicken fried steak and it was real steak and not just ground up hamburger. The waitress's was very nice and come to find out my eyes were not seeing double as the waitress's were twins. The price was reasonable for my real steak meal. I will have to come back here.

We LOVED the hand-cut fries which were soft in the middle yet not greasy—hard to find this perfect combo. We also LOVED the Bobcat Burger which comes with 2 homemade 1/4# patties normally (I requested just one) & a nice slice of brisket with the burnt ends attached. D R O O L !

I also enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich with slaw that I dumped right on top. The sauce is too sweet for me but that’s the case most of the time.

The sweet tea was perfectly sweetened & is also just right ordered as 1/2 sweet. ?

Looking forward to making this my meal of choice in-between DFW & NEA. I love the charm of the old-school inner & outer—quintessential hidden gem feature.

What an awesome place!! The BBQ is on point! The smoked Turkey and brisket are where it’s at! You have to make room for their amazing banana pudding! Definitely a place to take a break on your drive! Service is excellent as well! Stop here!!!

We were traveling through and didn't want the fast food that you see every few minutes in every town. I ordered the 3 meat Brisket, Ribs, Pulled Pork, Mac n Cheese, Baked Beans & Cole Slaw. Food was flawless and delicious. The staff was extremely nice and had our food to us in no time. If you want great food, great service and a full stomach, then this is your place.

Had sliced moist brisket and loaded fries. All really good and I recommend stopping here for lunch or dinner. Brisket was juicy and tender, sides of coleslaw and baked beans were slightly sweet and tasty.

Nice little place, my family stopped by while on a roadtrip and saw they had a good range of options and good reviews. The environment was warm, and the service was great and friendly. We got a little of everything, while the brisket and fried chicken wings were amazing, the burgers and the mac & cheese came out a bit on the salty side, still pretty good besides the saltiness. It seems other review rave about the barbecue, which is certainly great. If you come just for that, it'll be amazing, if you want a little more options, be careful if you have a low salt tolerance.

We stopped here by chance on our way down to Austin from Hot Springs, AR. It smelled amazing as soon as we walked in the door. We wanted to try all the meats so we got the 4 meat plate plus a side of sausages, that way we could try everything: pulled pork, ribs, brisket, and turkey. It was all delicious, but I was really impressed (and surprised) by how much I liked the turkey. That's not usually my favorite BBQ meat, but this was so tender and juicy, and had that perfect smoky flavor. The ribs were out of this world, and the meat just fell off the bone. The brisket melted in your mouth and the pulled pork was just as good. The plates come with three sides, so we tried the delicious southern creamy style cole slaw, the savory baked beans, and the best potato salad I've ever had. The folks who live in Hope, AR are lucky to have this fine establishment in their backyard. If we're ever in the area again, we're coming back! Do yourself a favor and try BigMac's Barbeeque. You'll be glad you did!
