Beautiful venue. Amazing and stunning artwork everywhere. Unique architecture all over the place. The theatre/stage is pretty cool too. Worth renting out for or going and checking out their events.

Theater itself is really nice. Went for a stand up comedy show. But doesn’t have parking and area feels a bit unsafe

Criticisms of the venue and the audio setup aren't really worth considering if you're just looking to have a good night out with a friend or partner.

I was lucky enough to be seated in the front row for a viewing of "Crazy for You", and I wasn't disappointed. The cast were incredible, with the performance and choreography being exciting the whole way through.

If you're looking for something to do, but are on the fence about seeing a play then go to this! You surely won't be disappointed.

It's really all about the show, and violet, the musical was pretty darn amazing.

Alcazar is a pretty theater. It has a beautiful, historic looking exterior. Most of the interior is also very well-maintained.

Seats are not comfortable.

Mixed gender bathroom is really pretty nasty. To start with, the bathroom is way too small for the occupancy of the theater. There's no attention to making the bathroom more modern or more usable. It's packed with standard, poorly constructed American bathroom partitions, the kind that go go down to the floor, and with huge gaps between the doors. I'm all for mixed-gender bathroom facilities, but there's no reason 2 Pack this many people into that small of a space with such poor fixtures and privacy partitions

To start: it has legroom! Too few theaters don't leave room for those of us with longer legs at the Alcazar I didn't bump my knees once.

The seats are comfortable, the room is wide and not super deep giving you a good range of seating that can see the stage well. Move too far from one side to the other and you'll see into the wings but you'll get that with a wide seating arrangement.

I'm not happy with the sound system. It feels like an after-thought, perhaps there wasn't enough money left after the other updates that were done. The placement of the speakers means people on the wings get blasted and people in the middle can lose some of what's said if anyone around them is making noise. Also, and this may just be the show I've seen, the actors are set too hard on the microphone. In a theater like this I would expect the actors to project into the audience and only leverage microphones as a soft backing or when the chorus is going. That's not the case here, the mixer has the microphones set hard which disassociates the voice from the actor on the stage. This can be corrected, it just requires the sound engineer and the director to have a good chat and try sitting in different spots to find the right balance (just like setting up the lights, it takes some work).

The thing that can't be fixed is the entrance. A hallway that leads to the elevator and the staircase is where you are welcomed and purchase/pick up tickets from will-call. Two couples waiting and everyone else is on the street. Perhaps they can open the house earlier and handle these transactions on top of the stair?
