Went to see Flashdance in 4K and 5.1 Dolby Digital. It was awesome! The theater is massive and the sound system is excellent. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to see this film on the big screen since it came out before I was born. I parked at the LACMA and had no issues getting in.

An incredible gift and resource for the city. Most comfortable seating, excellent sight lines, perfect sound and visuals, great programming and a kind staff. Plus no food or drink allowed (aside from water). Thank you Academy Musuem!

Pros:

Beautiful, huge theater.
Amazing space.
Some good programming.
Tickets are very inexpensive.
Attractive bar area.

Cons:

- They have no parking lot. They suggest using LACMA or Peterson Auto Museum. We just got back from a failed attempt to see Minari. Both lots were full due to a concert at LACMA. There is no street parking in the area either. They probably shouldn't be scheduling two events at once. Or they should warn people who have already purchased tickets that there is another large scale event taking place. We gave up and went home.
- Food/drinks way overpriced at snack bar. 10 dollars for a lemonade.

Why are there no ADA compliant restrooms in the theater? The only restrooms I found required a very long walk out of theater space and then thru the walkway into the museum. Also how do people with physical disabilities get into the Geffen Theater? Is there an elevator that I didn’t see?
