Our tour was great. Our guide was very good and very knowledgeable. It was Snowing really good and we were debating on cancelling our tour. Our guide assured us that the sky would break and we would be able to see the arch. Well we did it and so glad we did. The clouds lifted and we were able to see the arch and take a lot of photos. He even took photos for us which turned out great. I highly recommend this tour. The best park was the truck was heated and comfortable. We had good music and talked the whole way. If we come back to AZ we will probably try to get a sunset tour or night time with the stars. Very pretty scene and the pictures don't do it justice.

Dispite there being tours being offered, this is not open to tourist. It is on private land and you must have the approval of the family to be there. It is closed to any type of tours.

Eggshell Arch is one of the most remote and beautiful arches I have ever seen. The downside is that it is on private Navajo land and the people who live there are hard to get ahold of ahead of time. We drove there and started knocking doors until we located someone who lived on the land that could authorize us to go back to the arch. I offered money but it was declined. We drove back over VERY technical dirt and rock trails, took about an hour. When we got there another local claiming to be authorized to allow or not allow us to be there demanded we pay him a lot of money. I told him who I had already talked to but he was insistent that we pay up or leave. So we negotiated a more reasonable rate and he was very friendly there after and hung out with us for quite awhile. The original rate he asked for was about 5 or 6 times a National park rate.
The Arch is amazing and 1000% worth all the trouble, but it is a bit of a hassle to get back there and getting out was WAAAAAY harder as we had to make it up a very deep red sand hill that kept burying out trucks.
For all of the effort it took us to get back to the arch I would do it all again in heartbeat.
