I usually loved to watch big movies at Esquire IMAX Theatre for over 15-20 years ago. But this is my first time returning to Esquire IMAX Theatre after at least 15 years because the new theatres now have better sound, video, and recliner chairs.

The Esquire IMAX Theatre starts showing her age, as I watched the movie there a few days ago. The snacks and sodas are no different from those at most theatres. But the chairs are not as comfortable! The workers there are very friendly, and I like their very clean restroom. I still like their huge screen. But the parking costs additional money. I don't know if I want to watch many movies due to the extra cost of parking and less comfortable chairs.

Small independent IMAX theater with one screen - comfy seats, clean facilities, the standard snacks. A lot of food and parking options nearby too. I also like how you can peer in the projection booth. However I’m writing a poor review for a number of reasons:

1. I called and asked an employee about a week before if it would be a 70mm film screening. This is because it was pretty sold out in SF and I was going to be traveling near Lodi and I’d drive up if it was available. They said yes it was 70mm so I bought tickets. It was digital projection instead. Still looked great, but definitely not the same and I wouldn’t have driven an hour if I had known it wasn’t 70mm.

2. Tickets aren’t refundable. This is clearly stated on their website but I think there should be some flexibility to their policy. I accidentally bought tickets for Sunday. I realized it right away. However the only way to exchange for a different day was in-person and again I don’t live in Sacramento. So I bought tickets for Saturday (again, very passionate about 70mm) and no refund was possible. I accept that that’s their policy but I think it’d be worth considering some exceptions for example if you contact them within an hour of purchase, or allowing date exchanges via email.

3. There are two big dark marks in the center of their screen that distract from the film especially in brighter sequences.

Went to see "Oppenheimer" in 70mm.
Plenty of parking and a short walk to the theatre, located on K Street downtown.
Show was sold out. Plenty of leg room and seats were very comfortable. Especially for a three hour movie. Plenty of eateries around theatre before or after the show. Staff was friendly and the theatre was very clean. As a bonus, the air conditioning was at a perfect temperature on this warm day.

It’s been years since I’ve parked my rear end down in any theater but the IMAX did not disappoint. The screen is so gigantic, there is no bad seat in the house! Afterwards we did a little people watching out front on K st and had some good laughs…

Saw Interstellar rerelease at Esquire and Delta Shores IMAX. It was a good experience at Esquire but images were less brighter and sound is much lower compared to Delta much brighter images and louder sound. My seats were vibrating in some scenes but here it didn't. Overall, digital screening is decent, for screen this size need laser projector. Only come here if they show 70mm films. I have seen Dunkirk and Oppenheimer in 70mm which were amazing at Esquire.

I recently went to see Oppenheimer in 70mm 15perf at the IMAX Theater in Esquire California, and I was blown away by the experience. The image quality was simply stunning, with incredible clarity and detail. The sound was also top-notch, with deep bass that really shook the theater. The theater itself is very spacious and comfortable, with plenty of legroom and reclining seats. Overall, I had a truly immersive and unforgettable experience watching Oppenheimer in IMAX.
