We stayed here the night before the Eclipse and then floated to Maumee the next day . There were only about 10 other vessels seen on that stretch of river during the eclipse . We returned later in the week to stay another night after hopping from area to area between here and the White River .. when the water levels and weather cooperate this place is quite amazing for free … pit toilet up from the gravel bar .. pack it in pack it out ..

Beautiful scenery. We love the Buffalo and look forward to coming back to swim more. Kids swam end of March and the water was cold but tolerable. Plenty of space to bring your vehicle down to park next to the river. Don’t expect to be alone, quite a few people frequent this place. Easy access off a main highway. A light 4WD may be necessary for ground clearance to park next to river. Water flows very fast on the outside banks and could present a problem for some.

Super cool swimming hole! I saw, and participated in some cliff diving when I arrived. Sign states "free camping" on pebbled shore, at your own risk. Possible flash flood area. I saw several species of fish in the Buffalo River. All locals were friendly, and the area was clean. A clean pit toilet is right up the hill. Highly recommend stopping to swim, if you're coming down highway 65.

Tons of room to walk around on the small rock shore area. Water and cliff were beautiful. This is a must see water access stop on the buffalo. We went on s very cold day and still say 4 other cars of people. You can drive quite far down in there and there is a loop around but it is on the rock.

I loved the pretty views. The water looked better from a distance, a little too warm for my liking and so much algae. The gravel bar is huge, so it was easy to find a pretty secluded spot to relax. The cliff area was quite crowded, but everywhere else was fine, especially for it being a Sunday afternoon I loved the rocks too!

Very scenic place... from a distance or if you just ignore the litter.
Water was perfect. Much preferrable was Tyler Bend just up stream from here.
