We had a chance to experience the IMAX Dome theater and it was mesmerizing. We went to see the Blue Whales Documentary, and my little one was amazed the entire time, not feeling bored even a bit even though it was a documentary and not any kid animation.

Because of the dome-shaped theater, it felt like we were there witnessing whatever playing on the screen for real, not just through a TV. It was really an interesting experience!

Went to watch interstellar here. The experience was akin to staring at a monitor from 8 inches away. The seats are so close to the screen that only half of it is in your field of vision and you have to continuously turn your neck across to appreciate the visuals.
And we couldn’t even leave the theater because there is no leg room to walk in front of people.
Worst movie experience ever!

We have been going to the IMAX for years and years, it remains one of our favorites. The screen itself is super unique, and the quality of the sound is simply over the top. The kids love the movies, which tend to be on the informative type.

The interactive is great as well if your schedule permits.

Pink Floyd show at an all time low!

1. Horrible laser light show which would have put hyper children to sleep
2. Muted and horrible sound! Even when 3-4 of us went down to tell them to turn it up and to please make adjustments ... nothing!

What a waste of money! Pink Floyd would never endorse this in the first place. Total embarrassment and we walked out 1/2 way through.

We went to see Twisters there thinking it would be an IMAX experience, but it was a regular movie projected on the IMAX dome, which made the movie look all distorted and stretched out. Would not recommend. Also the concession stand was very minimal, the popcorn was not very good.

I loved the IMAX Dome theater at the Tech Interactive. I used to come here as a kid before they had the Dome, and I'm grateful this amazing technology exists. It reminds me a little of the 3D experience that Great America had in the nineties. You feel like you're almost in the movie being played or about to fall in.

The sound is crisp, clear, and great for anyone who's hard of hearing but not yet deaf. I think they have subtitles if you can't hear at all. I can't hear well, but I could hear Jane Goodall's documentary so well in the IMAX Dome.

The level of sound was too loud for my three year old nephew, though. He did not enjoy it and kept placing his hands over his ears. So, if you're bringing children who have great hearing, maybe bring headphones for them or anything to cover their ears that will subdue the sound.

I always recommend the Tech Interactive as a cool spot to visit whether you're a tourist or a local to San José or the SF Bay Area. It's a fun and educational experience.

BEST MOVIE EXPERIENCE I've ever had!!! I recently watched Dune Part 2 here and the experience was so unreal... literally felt like I was apart and within the movie!! The Dome IMAX is truly a whole different level then your typical movie theatre, I hope they start showing more movies at a later time like the 8 PM showing because it's the only time I'm available after work, I would love to get to experience more movies that are not as educational! I will definitely be back :))

Fun experience although my 7 year old didn’t like Beautifica.
