Excellent experience all around. Aesthetically pleasing decor. Intimate atmosphere with a lively vibe. Good, friendly service. Tasty, well presented dishes along with nicely done drinks. Area was well maintained and clean, including spotless restrooms. We absolutely LOVED our entertainment tonight: Waldo Jazz Collective (such a great job, gentlemen--we enjoyed you soooooo very much!!!). We just want to say a huge thank you to Johnnie's and Waldo Jazz Collective for a truly great and memorable date night! We look forward to future visits. God bless you all.

To summarize, the experience was underwhelming and my high hopes weren't met. Our waitress was very nice so the following things were not her fault at all. The band playing was great but it was hard to hear my friends and fiance over the volume of the music. The food took a long time to be served. Then there was a hair in my side dish of broccoli. They replaced it but it was still a little off-putting. To be fair they took $3 off the total bill which was like $40 for two entrees.

The atmosphere and music were FANTASTIC. The Service was good but not over the top good. The food and cocktails are pretty pricey for the quality you get. I got some type of Margarita and it was probably the absolute worst cocktail I have had in a very long time. It had essentially no flavor, no depth and probably not much spirit - just not good at all!! And it was an expensive cocktail to boot. Based on that I’d never buy a cocktail there again…stick to beer or wine. The appetizer was the only thing worth the price tag. All of our entrees were just very okay. Like I said, the quality of the food just isn’t there for what it costs. But, the music was exceptional and the ambiance is very nice! I’d definitely go back for a glass of wine and the music though!

A hidden little gem we would never have imagined would be in a movie theater! The music was great and it was a comfortable atmosphere. The Bloody Mary was pretty awful but my husband loved his banana bread old fashioned!

Go for the live music but you absolutely must stay for the food. I’d all but given up on quality, affordable restaurant food but Johnnie’s has absolutely given me hope again. We ordered the Philly and nachos with pulled pork. Both were amazing but those nachos…my goodness. We didn’t even need to add the meat. All the toppings were fresh including the chips which miraculously stayed crispy from start to finish. The toppings were evenly distributed and not just on the top layer of chips. They absolutely got it right and we will definitely be back soon.

I love the atmosphere here but I have to say the food is REALLY disappointing. This could be such an amazing place if they would step it up in their kitchen! This review is based off numerous visits over the last 5 years. Approximately 6-7 visits total. Each time we have left disappointed but keep coming back for the music. Again, we decide to go on Valentine’s Day because it’s close to home and they have dinner and music.
Loved the idea of the preset valentines dinner. We both ordered the oysters and soon as they sat them on the table they reeked of a foul stench fish smell. I love oysters and have had them at numerous places. Oysters are not suppose to smell like a rotten fish! Both my husbands and I sent them back for salads instead. The pork shank was good! The pasta was very blah…
Mixed drinks were absolutely awful. I’m an ex bartender that hates to complain about food and drinks unless really granted! I ordered 2 different ones and both were undrinkable. I finished 1/2 my 1st one and ordered a different one thinking it would be better…took one sip and no…I didn't send it back just left it sitting on the table full. After sending the oysters back I gave up. Very frustrating that I couldn’t even enjoy a drink on valentines night and listen to music. I can overlook one or two oops but come on…when there’s more negative than positive…it needs to be addressed.
Cheesecake was edible but the chocolate cake tasted stale as if it was baked 4-5 days ago and frozen and left out to thaw. Very dry! Took two bites and threw away. Ordered 9 different items off the menu that night between drinks, apps, entrée, and dessert and only 2 were good!? The pork shank and strawberry salads were good. Everything else failed miserably.
The band was amazing!!!. Sadly we will go else where when we want dinner and music. After 5 years of hoping it would turn around, I can’t torture myself with the horrible food anymore! Please address your kitchen and food quality. You could do so much better!
