I watched Kristina Wong’s “Sweatshop Overlord” ? ? ✂️ ? at the Kirk Douglas Theater ? in Culver City this evening ? ? ?! It was really good and it was especially very poignant and powerful for me since it was about the Asian-American experience ? during the pandemic ?! One of the most touching ❤️ and heartwarming highlights ✨ was the beautiful ? handmade quilt ? by the Aunties Sewing Squad ?!

I really needed something to help me unwind and destress ? from work, and Kristina’s show definitely helped me relax ☺️! I also really liked how the Kirk Douglas Theater ? is very small and intimate and very easy to get to ?! Every seat ? in the house is great ?! You really can view ? the stage so well from any seat !

Parking is free for 3 hours at the City Hall parking structure across the street, as long as you get your parking ticket from the structure validated at the theater ?! The structure itself is very straightforward and easy to park in. But just keep in mind that even though the City Hall address itself is on Culver Blvd, you have to enter their parking structure from Duquesne.

I will definitely come back for more shows since parking at City Hall is validated by the theater, and it’s not a huge hassle to get to ?, compared to some other venues.

The Kirk Douglas Theater is part of the Center Theater Group, in Downtown LA. This is its newest acquisition, located in Culver City. It is smaller than their other theaters and it is budget friendly.

The theater itself used to be a movie house. I recall going there as a child in the 50s and 60s. It was later closed down, having to give way to the multi plex's that pretty much destroyed the single movie house.

The Center Theater Group took it over and returned it to all of its beautiful splendor and added a great new lobby. They redid all the neon and the beautiful tile flooring outside, they redid the Box Office to look just like it did when I was a kid. I don't know if they use it.

All of it is just stunning. The lobby is so very comfortable where you can relax and meet up with your group. They have merch sections and once you walk in the theater itself you will find comfortable seating, not a bad seat in the house, and a wonderful stage.

We saw Winnie the Pooh there, which was for kids, and it was a special event. What they usually have is a season of newer plays, more edgy plays and plays you will not see elsewhere. From comedy to drama, they have it all. You simply go to the Center Theater Website and you will find The Kirk Douglas. You can get a Season Pass or just buy one play. They do tend to sell out so take a peek for this season.

This place is just perfect. In the heart of little downtown Culer City, great food is within walking distance. Parking is on the street or you can park in the lot across the street for a reasonable fee.

You must go catch a play if you are in town. You will have a great experience.

Small but charming theater. We watched "Dogman - The Musical" from row E and it was great, more than close enough to enjoy it. I feel the price difference for the very front rows might be hard to justify due to how tiny the theater is.

A historical theater. It is always so nice to go into Culver City and see some of the history of old Hollywood glamor that has been lost around LA with so many buildings. The parking around the theater isn't the easiest. The Culver City lots are a walk. There is metered street parking. A lot of new restaurants creeping up daily it seems.

It’s my first time seeing a play at this theatre. I love the vibe, the community and the theatre itself!

Parking might be tricky for first-timers as they are located across the street. But the theatre offer validations!

Very clean inside and out. Staff is friendly and helpful. Comfortable seats. Parking is a bit of a hassle but there are places within walking distance,theatre only validates if you park at the Culver city hall structure,just a FYI, i found out the hard way.
