I want to say that I have found another authentic and delicious Korean restaurant. Everyone of us had a great time eating here. and parking was convenient with options next to the plaza. The food quality is very good! The service is great! I also appreciated the staff's honesty; I had forgotten my jacket, and when I returned two days later, they had kept it safe for me. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant.

Good place to have Bossam(boiled pork belly). Bossam comes with fermented shrimp, pickled radish wraps, salted napa cabbage, soy sauced jalapenos, and radish kimchi. Every side really compliments the meat. It’s fun to have the meat with so many different ways. We also got the potato pancake which was crispy on the crust and chewy in the middle, just how we like it. The servers kept on checking on everything and refilled sides without our requests. Very satisfied 😊

Very delicioua bibimbap and good service. The bibimbap has enough volume and I packed up some of it back home. The side dishes and the cold sprout shoot soup are also tasty. Recommended!

#LA 최고의 보쌈과 맛있는 한식
LA의 한식 중에 좀처럼 찾기 힘든 음식 중에 하나가 족발과 보쌈이에요. 여기 고바우하우스는 보쌈 하나로 LA 한식을 평정한 곳입니다. 보쌈 뿐만 아니라 푸짐하게 즐길 수 있는 해물파전, 김치전, 쟁반막국수, 청국장, 된장찌개 등 다양한 메뉴를 알차고 맛있게 즐길 수 있는 약 30년이 넘은 장수하는 레스토랑이에요.
저도 2007년 LA 처음 정착했을 때부터 단골로 다녔던 곳이고 지금도 그 명성이 대단한 곳이기도 합니다.

#분위기
조금 어두운 분위기이지만 항상 가득찬 손님과 많은 손님들을 감당할 많은 서버들로 인해 활기차고 시끌벅적한 곳이에요. 손님들을 보면 가족식사로 오시는 분들이 많고 모임으로 오시는 분들도 많은 걸 보면 음식의 퀄리티와 그 푸짐함이 느껴지는 곳입니다.

#밑반찬
여기 밑반부터 참 맛있습니다 미국에 있다보면 밑반찬의 소중함과 그 간절함이 증폭이 되는데.. 여기 오면 그 갈증이 해소됩니다. 특히 살짝 매콤한 장조림이 맛있었고 김치와 무침 모두 만족스럽습니다

#보쌈
일단 보쌈이 나오는 비주얼부터 풍성합니다.
모듬보쌈은 삶은 돼지고기와 족편채 그리고 홍어찜이 제공되는데 그 양이 어마어마해서 전 아직 한 번도 주문해 보진 못했어요 ㅜㅜ
대신 일반 보쌈의 경우 보쌈과 더불어 절인배추, 초절임무, 새우젓, 무말랭이무침, 초절임 할라피뇨가 제공이 되요.
냄새 1도 없이 부드럽게 잘 삶아진 돼지고기는 이집의 자랑입니다. 한약재 사용 없이 돼지고기의 담백함을 잘 살렸습니다. 여기 제가 제일 좋아하는 컨디먼츠가 <새우젓>인데요.. 물 많은 새우젓이 아니고 새우 물기를 제거하고 새우에 양념을 한 새우젓은 새우의 풍미와 식감을 모두 잡은 굿아이디어. 초절임 할라피뇨는 미국의 특징을 잘 살린 어쩌면 궁여지책에서 나온 신의 한수. 달달하고 매콤함을 제공하는 할라피뇨가 보쌈에 참 잘 어울립니다

#청국장
특히 미국 집에서 끓여먹이 부담스러운 청국장인데, 항상 이곳에 오면 청국장을 주문해 먹습니다. 예전에는 정말 맛있었지만 한국에 거주하다 돌아오니 된장스러운 느낌과 달달한 맛이 조금 어색하네요. 그래도 그 맛은 여전히 좋습니다. 밥 비벼먹게 양푼에 채소를 함께 주시니 청국장을 좀 더 다양한 옵션으로 즐길 수 있네요.

#갈비
LA 갈비 아니고 한국식 갈비 구워주세요.
양념도 적당하고 굽기도 좋고 평균 이상의 갈비입니다.
물론 BXX 순두부 보다 훨씬 맛있습니다

#김치전
뭔가 세련되진 않았지만 집에서 구운 듯한 정감이 있는 맛이에요. 약간 기름진 건 아쉽지만 실짝 고추장 넣은 장떡 맛과 김치의 상큼함이 조화롭습니다.

전체적으로 한국의 음식에 비해 모자람 없고 오히려 미국적인 특색이 가미되어 더욱 업그레이드 된 느낌도 있는 최고의 한식집 입니다.
한식이 그리우실 때 고바우 하우스 후회 없습니다 !!

Love the banchan here. We ordered medium bossam plate and the portion is enough to feed three people. Even though the meat is not as fall apart tender as Han, the flavor here at Kobawaoo is wayyyyy better. We also ordered the the Jangban Guksoo, the acorn noodle was perfectly cooked, so aromatic, so good overall.

The short: known for their bossam. Hidden gem for their cold noodles and (for the adventurous) stinky fermented soy bean paste soup! Expect curt but diligent service designed for Koreans not American style customer service

As a kid this was my favorite place for bossam. My friends and family all still love it so would highly recommend.

As a vegetarian now, would highly recommend their 절반 국수 (jangban guksu aka cold noodles) and 청국장 (cheonguk jjang aka fermented soybean paste soup). Today was my first time back since being a kid and it's my new fave.

Noodle dish is refreshing with lots of fresh veggies mixed with a spicy + soy sauce. If you like bibimguksu it's in that lane of freshing noodles but much less spicy.

The cheonguk jjang is an acquired taste and not for everyone. If you like stinky, fermented soy beans that are super healthy with probiotics for your gut plus delicious like Japanese natto you will love this like I do.

Service is average like Korean restaurants. They are to the point and don't mess around with niceties or coming to check on you. Push your button and they promptly arrive to bring whatever you need. Some love this kind of service. Others find it rude. Just set expectations.
