Went into Nick’s after the St Pat’s Parade yesterday so a few of us could use our Pub Pass for a beer. We ordered a meal, apps, and additional beers on top of the beers we ordered for the pass.

When we asked for the tab, the waitress told us since we used the Pub Pass, we got an additional beer because it was BOGO. Maybe it was my misunderstanding because there were countless other specials going on for St Pat’s, but when I clarified I was using my Pub Pass and already had our free beer, she assured us we could still get another one. I thought it odd, but again, assumed it was some special for the day.

When she brought out the last round and the tab, I noticed we were charged for the second round of beers. I asked the manager on duty about it, because I had already clarified with the waitress.

The manager said that in order to use the Pub Pass, we had to buy an additional beer. Confused once again, I asked her to clarify because in the two years we’ve had Pub Passes, I’ve never been told I had to buy an additional beer to use the pass. She told me that Nick’s has done the pass for the last four years and that those rules came directly from Pub Pass. She then immediately asked if I was just trying to get “six free beers” and I said that I wasn’t, I was simply trying to understand the bill. She goes “I’ll just give you the other beers for free, since that’s what you’re wanting me to do”. I once again said, “no, I’m not and I’m not trying to be a b*tch, I’m just saying I’ve used this at countless other places and I’ve not had to buy another beer nor did the waitress explain it clearly when she said we could have another one for free” to which she replied “that’s exactly what you’re being” and then backtracked to say she didn’t mean I was being a b*tch.

I have no issues paying for the drinks I order, but I do have issues with shady service and rude employees. In reading other reviews before posting this, it seems I’m not the only person both have happened to in recent months. I will not be returning to Nick’s.

Beer selection is outstanding!! Goods pretty decent and not to expensive. Service was great. But its freaking dark in there! Couldnt even see the floor on my way to the bathroom. Besides it being to dark the staff was great and they have a hell of a draft lineup!! Ill be back for sure. Might take a flashlight though. 😜

Food is always delicious and staff are always very nice and down to earth. I live out of town and come to St. Louis for work multiple times a week. Never went out here or got any drinks I was strictly getting food before I left town as my work is very close. Surprised to see a bunch of bad reviews. It’s a dive bar that has good food lol seems like a lot of these people are looking for Ferraris at a ford dealership.

Pretty bad, to be honest. Spent 70 bucks and had to stop for fast food on the way home because the food at Nick's was barely edible. Fries tasted like fish (think they use the same fryer for everything) and the sandwich was too dry to even try to choke down. Really should have asked to be refunded. Waiter didn't seem to be phased that he took plates with barely a bite out of them. Got the feeling that happens a lot there.

Honestly, they must have a time capsule in the back…because these food prices make no sense. $7.99 for a taco salad and chili, it’s just amazing. I don’t really want to write this…because I want these good lunch deals and awesome service all to myself. But it’s also too good not to share. So you’re welcome

Went a few times recently for happy hour but didn’t get happy hour prices on my bills. Pitchers are too small. Food is pricey but above average for a dive bar. Got undercooked fries last time I went. Enough drawbacks for me to wait a year or two to try again. Best part is you can smoke inside when it’s cold or raining.

Update: Nick’s Pub is a fantastic spot with a great atmosphere and top-notch service. The staff here is the most attentive and respectful I’ve ever encountered, and while I’d love to single out individuals, I honestly can’t name just one—they’re ALL incredible. That said, Jacquie and Morgan have gone above and beyond for me, both personally and at the bar. Every single bartender here is fantastic, protective, and supportive, and I have no idea how they managed to find such an amazing team.

I also have to give a huge shoutout to Kayty, the GM—she deserves a pat on the back, a hug, a tip, or whatever she wants, honestly. Without me even asking, she recognized and stepped in when I was being stalked and put in a very dangerous and uncomfortable situation. She knew exactly what to say and do, ensured I stayed inside until everyone left, and even had someone walk me to my car. Thank God she did—the guy was waiting for me outside and became aggressive. I have NEVER experienced anything like that, and I can’t even explain how grateful I am for her quick thinking and genuine care. After driving off, I had to pull over just to catch my breath—that’s how terrifying it was.

Aside from their incredible staff and safety awareness, Nick’s Pub is simply a great place to be. It’s the perfect bar to meet new people, enjoy good company, and have a fun night out. The vibe is lively but still comfortable, making it an easy go-to spot for any occasion.

The only downside? The salad could use some improvement—I recently tried more of their food and their wings and pizza are to die for! Here’s to an incredible staff that truly cares about their customers, Nick’s Pub is the place to be. I’ll keep coming back for the people and the service alone!

The waitress was really cool. She made us feel really welcomed. It was happy hour and $3.50 build your burger night. We got the volcano potato app and it was crispy cheesy and delicious
