My review is based on my experience as a guest to an event and not as the planner of the event. The place is beautiful. We attended a wedding here and the patio added a sense of spaciousness and relaxation with elegance. The restrooms were clean but they are a bit far from the hall. It is an open space, not ideal if you're looking for total privacy, but I think that's precisely what makes it special. At night, you can see the city lights at the distance. It is a venue I would definitely consider for an event of my own.

🚨 Beware of Salt Drift Pointe for Your Wedding! 🚨

Just a heads up for anyone considering or currently booked at Salt Drift Pointe in IB for your wedding or event. We recently had a pretty unfortunate experience with them that we want to share to help others avoid similar issues.

We booked the venue for our wedding on April 12, 2025, and paid a 50% deposit back in April 2024. However, we just found out that the venue does not have a legal lease for the date of our event, meaning they cannot guarantee the space for our wedding day!

Despite multiple attempts to resolve this and request a refund, the venue has refused to return our deposit, even though they are unable to provide the service they promised.

If you're considering booking with Salt Drift Pointe, I highly recommend double-checking their availability and ensuring they have a valid lease for your date before signing any contracts or putting down any money. The owners are suing each other and both wanting sole ownership of the venue, with a third entity wanting the space as well.

In our attempt to get our refund back, we were told that we just don’t understand what happens in business behind closed doors. Terry was dismissive and continued to not take any accountability, simply blaming everything on his co-owner Richard - what a businessman!

We’d hate for any other couples to go through this kind of stress during their wedding planning process!

My wife and I held both our wedding ceremony and venue at Salt Drift Pointe in Imperial Beach and it made our wedding memorable. They have a lot of equipment that we used for both the ceremony and venue that is included with the price so you don't have to worry about renting a lot of stuff. The owners were great and they answered all the questions that we needed about the venue. We also hired their bartending services and everything went smoothly.

My wife and I got married here and we loved every second of it!! Beautiful location and scenery. Just note that it's kind of a DIY venue, you essentially rent out the venue space and then pick your all your vendors on your own. We hired a wedding coordinator, Ashley Fabrigas, who contacted all the vendors and made our wedding run perfectly! 100% would not change a thing!

Beautiful location. Visited during The Tapatío Festival tribute to Guadalajara. The festival was both indoors and outside but the inside part was open to the outside. This was good because it was a really warm sunny day and there was only shade inside.

Mr. Snyder is refusing to refund our deposit, he wasn’t honest about not having a lease for 2025. This will be an ongoing headache, we will now have to seek legal advise and look for another venue. He had the audacity to tell us to wait for a final resolution. I hope justice prevails and makes him pay everyone back with interest. Stay away!
