Was on a family road trip in July 2023 and we were on the way from Mesa to Ft. Apache. We ended up stopping here to see what was going on because there were tons of people turning around and telling us to do the same. We stopped at this little rest stop spot to talk to people and found out that there was a huge wildfire going on that they had to close the road for so everyone was rerouted. Glad we found out when we were stopped here instead of traveling miles further down the road before getting turned around. Beautiful spot to stop for views!! Wish we would have had more time to see some local trails and lookouts. There were bathrooms- they smelled like an outhouse in the summer and I can't remember if they had running water or not. Parking was somewhat limited and the lot was getting full with everyone coming back and turning around here.

What a great day trip from Casa Grande out there towards San Carlos we loved it we spent the entire day there the valley is beautiful and I could see why they truly call it the mini Grand Canyon the views are great we sat down had lunch near the river nothing bad to say about this place though if you go near the water or go to explore just remember you are in Bear Country as well as possible mountain lions I didn't worry as I carry Everywhere I Go
