This place is a hidden gem! So glad we stopped! We waited a good while for our food, but it was worth it. It was all hot and fresh and so good! Maybe call your order in ahead cause it took a while. Especially with a hangry toddler. Bbq was great, and we loved the homemade fries! Service could’ve been better as we saw others actually getting their own refills, but I think there was only one waitress. I had to get a homemade fried pie to go, which was stale, but still good, nonetheless. We will definitely be back!

We ate there for the first time today. The food was really good, the service was excellent and the atmosphere nostalgic. It brings to mind the old time restaurant, lounge, pool hall atmosphere. Yet, it does not have pool tables, nor does it appear to serve alcohol (don't quote me on that, I did not ask). There was classic country music playing at just the right volume!! I hate to eat at a place that has music blaring so loud that it's impossible to carry on a conversation. I can't tolerate freezing and shaking while I eat either. The temperature was pleasant here, neither too hot nor cold. All things taken together, a very nice experience. We will go back.

Mom and Pop Hometown Restaurant in Ragland Alabama...one of a kind place...
Friday night steak dinner with a hot potato and salad. The steak is cooked to perfection...if you have never been here...I'm asking you, why not ? If your sick and tired of the fast food chains. Then this place is your next stop...choo choo...did I mention homemade fried pies ...omg... delicious and good to eat ..

Visited again April 2019 - nice young man waited on us, I ordered a pork bbq salad which was really good. I'm stickimg with their bbq from now on. So tender! My friend ordered the hamburger steak & said it was a little salty but otherwise he really enjoyed it.

If you like a lean burger & marinated steak you will love Shirley's Mainline. I haven't tried their ribs yet, but I will another time. My neighbor who was with me LOVED their hamburger steak. They have great fries, baked potatoes, and salad - and the young man who waited on us was very attentive.

Railroad themed decor, fast efficient service, and really good prices. Waitresses always nice and friendly as well as helpful whenever I have a menu question. Oh, and the best thing of all: fantastic food! I've been there five times and received friendly service and great food every time. I've taken two other people who were also impressed. I always get the bbq, my husband had the hamburger steak, and I even took my boss who chose the burger. All delicious!

Writes on the board one price, charges another. Steals tip from my server. Says will give refund. But of course don't. Worst establishment in pell city. And that's saying something
