I went into this bar the other night after hyping up the drinks and the arcade in the basement to a group of friends. Super disappointed I did that. We got there and when they carded us my friend apparently had "a fake id". I asked the bartender to have someone else look at it and she said her manager did and said it was a fake as well. We are both 25 and not only that, I took my friend to get her ID from the dmv right there in butte. Fortunately we were able to go to other bars that actually know how to tell reals from fakes that night though so our time out wasn't ruined by any means. I think the staff 100% needs to be retrained on how to look at id's because this is completely unacceptable. The cocky attitude the bartender had about the whole situation was unappreciated as well.

Edit: I find it funny that everytime you guys get a bad review you immediately jump to being a 'family owned business'. Bad service is bad service chain or not. Turning away someone with a real ID is illegal. Look it up. Instead of jumping on defense-take the criticism and educate your staff on what constitutes as an acceptable form of ID. It's humiliating when you're being called out for something that isn't true. Like having a fake ID when in fact it is not. That being said the bar is awesome. There was one bartender I met the first time who was great. I had a blast. The only issue I have with this place is what happened to my friend. I didn't say anything about the owners or the bar. This has everything to do with poor training and customer service. Again...use this to educate your staff on appropriate forms of ID...lots of individuals do not have drivers licenses...making someone feel like a liar and claiming 'fake' is what is unacceptable. Stopped in for a bite to eat and we were impressed! The sliders were superb. My husband and I had the corned beef sliders and would definitely order again. Our daughter had the Hawaiian sliders and our son had the turkey sliders. Everyone was impressed. And the Pickled Irishman! I think it's my new favorite drink!

I came here with a group of friends to have a couple drinks and see the retro arcade in the basement, but my ID was denied because the bartender said the holographic symbols on it was "in the wrong place". Everyone who knows me knows that I am 25, and my bestie even went with me to get it renewed recently. Very disappointing, their staff needs to be retrained on checking for false IDs!

Edit: I work at a place that requires me to check IDs as well, I was never trained to check if the holographic part of it was in the wrong place. I felt very embarrassed coming here when I was made to look like a liar trying to get drinks illegally in front of everyone, and instead of apologizing for the mistake, the owner wants to make me and my friends look like jerks for leaving honest reviews. 🙃

Using a fake ID is a serious crime, so of course I am going to take it seriously and feel ashamed when I am accused of doing so. How would you feel if you were accused of a serious crime in front of everyone? I guarantee you would feel upset as well. Not only did you embarrass me, but you embarrassed my friends and made me feel like a burden that was ruining their night out.

This was my first time coming here, but the fact that they refuse to apologize or even try to rectify the situation, only solidifies my first impression with this place. Don't come here if you're out of state, don't have a driver's liscense, or may think you have some sort of slight imperfection with your ID, because they're going to embarrass you in public, then complain when you leave a review about it.

The sad thing is, we aren't even hard customers to deal with. We always tip, we're very easy to please, we rarely ever complain unless a worker is blatantly rude, and we don't leave any sort of mess whether we go to a bar or a restaurant. Every one of us knows what it is like to work in customer service, it sucks sometimes, but what happened was totally unacceptable, and so is the owner's reaction to it. When we make mistakes at our job, we do our best to rectify it though, and I have yet to see that at this place. This is the first and only time any business has had an issue with my Montana state ID. Do better!

Great Modern locally owned establishment for the whole family, Arcade downstairs, very cool 😎 rooftop bar, and nicely decorated bar on the main floor with sports on TV & friendly bartenders. Highly recommended and will return 👌 👍 👏.

We FINALLY got to have brunch at Slainte, and it was so worth the wait. Our family enjoyed sharing the delicious and fun brunch boards as well as the bloody Mary’s and mimosas. After brunch we also let out some competitive energy on the rooftop as we enjoyed a GORGEOUS October Butte afternoon.
Oh…and the staff is of course top notch and friendly. We will return on our next trip to Butte. Slainte

Great late night meal with incredible beer selection. Our service wizard was Becca who is a coach at Montana Tech. She share how she ended up in Butte and stayed. Food good. Beer selection fantastic.
