Stayed at The Sportsman Lodge on Tuesday 6/9/15. The cost with tax was very reasonable, just over $57.00. The motel is at the east end of Red Bluff and just before the turn to Lassen Volcanic National Park. Upon arrival the gentleman who manages the motel was very welcoming and recommended various restaurants & advised me of those that offer a 10% discount when showing your Sportsman Lodge receipt. There are various restaurant menus available in the office which you can take with you to peruse. The room was large and very clean as was the bath. The king bed and pillows were comfortable. The bath has a large, tiled shower with good sized towels. The TV is a large old style CRT tv, but the picture was clear and lots of channels. Coffeemaker, micro & fridge with small freezer section in the room. Whatever coffee was provided was quite good which is often not the case at this price point! I don't know if a breakfast of some kind is provided. I enjoyed my stay and definitely recommend The Sportsman Lodge!

the Sportsman takes the dread out of working out of town the owners are so friendly and go out of there way to make you fell at home||The rooms very large and don't give you that closed feeling coffee maker,frig with freezer box and micro make it easy to make lunch saving more money. The beds are very comfortable and make for a good night sleep. You park right in front of your room and parking is very secure it's an older place witch adds to its charm the best bang for your buck when staying for weeks at a time they have lots of repeat customers.||the single rooms have a large chair with ottoman makes it nice for watching TV .||when staying in Red Bluff stop here first you won't regret it lots of great places to eat within min. been there 2 weeks and have not eaten at the same place twice and they have all been good

You know the feeling of sitting in a restored 1960's car, everything looks as it did back when it first appeared in the showroom? That's how this place looks...a trip back to "long ago." ||||Our room was in perfect shape. The furniture was so wonderfully comfortably and the carpet was spotlessly clean from wall to wall. This was a real gem. The colorful shower tiles were reminders of the retro colors of yesterday...also shiny and clean. ||||The owner was very caring and thoughtful...offering comments on local restaurants and handing menus of many. If this motel avoids "big dollar" buyouts, we will definitely be back and spend another night here...our stay was wonderful! ||||Like that restored car I earlier mentioned, I hope this place remains in the family and continues to be passed down from generation to generation, with the loving care that is so evident.

As others have stated, the owner goes out of his way to help ensure that you have a good time at his motel and in Red Bluff. The room was large, quiet, clean and the guest chairs were actually comfortable to sit in and read. Not something you usually get at budget motels. The air conditioner is at the back of the room so you're not getting blasted while siting in bed or reading at the table. Less than five minute walk to fairgrounds.

This place continues to please mightily and goes to show that a book cannot be judged by its cover. Red Bluff's hidden gems (this motel, Janya Thai, and Carlito's Mexican Restaurant) are all on the other side of the river from downtown--toward Lassen in the drab, ugly outskirts. None are by any means pretty, but the quality and value-for-money will surprise you. It's a great base for Lassen. ||This motel is almost comically dated, but the rooms are huge, clean, safe, and very comfortable. The owners are extremely friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you are happy. Call them a couple of hours before your arrival, and they will turn on the A/C so the room is cool in arrival. They offer discounts on several restaurants in the area--including the two best restaurants in town (see above, and see the Yelp reviews). Beds are a little soft, but at this price this is fine by me. Mini fridge/freezer and microwave in-room. Powerful warm shower. Reading chair and ottoman. Cushy pile carpeting. Large table and comfy chairs. Don't expect high design--just comfort. ||The only thing that is consistently disappointing are the dirty in-room coffee makers. For whatever reason, this doesn't change. Bring Via and an electric kettle or go to Starbucks down the road. Everything else is super clean.|

These operators have pride of ownership with the attention to detail you can't find under $150.00 a night. They are warm friendly people who were willing to help. The room was clean to the edges, it had everything a traveler would want for an overnight stay on a long trip. It was very quiet, so that we heard nothing.

Wife and I stopped here on vacation for a night. Rooms are very large, very clean, and beds very comfortable. Staff is friendly. Location was easy to find with lots of parking. We couldn't believe we could get a room this large at such a low price. We will definitely be staying here again if we come through this area. Great, great place.

It's a decent place to sleep. It had the 2 queen beds, was Clean, had coffee and pancakes in morning. Was a good deal. I'd stay there again. It was quiet. Had a hard time parking my large pickup, but I managed.
