I was in the e.r due to having a seizure, and the first thing they assumed was drugs and treated me like I was seeking. The male nurses are absolutely rude and abrupt! The only person who treated me with kindness was the Dr, he told me what he thought was going on and told exactly who to follow up with. The nurses at this hospital are a joke! They took my father in law in and told him he was fine and then he needed a triple by pass a day later. I took my wife in and they said she was a drug abuser and it turned out she had kidney failure from a blood pressure medication.
Do not take your family here, this is the worst hospital I have ever been to. Unfortunately for people who live in this small town don't have a choice. I've been to this hospital many times over the 30 years, and the nurses they have now are just down right rude and have no bedside manor.

I went in after talking to a triage nurse who told me i should be seen in the next 3-4 hours. When i got there and checked in and told them exactly what the triage nurse said and ended up.waiting for over 4 hours and didn't get called back. Someone that got there 3 hours after me, got called back before i did. I ended up leaving. It is super frustrating that when you go during the day, they are faster then when going at night.

Never received a room. I was made to sit up the whole time, in the hallway. I'm disabled and have mobility as well as energy limitations. I need to lay down regularly for hours daily and on top of that was experiencing even more debilitating illness. I was there from 9:30pm to 3am and they were aware I was ill, chronically and acutely for 6 days experiencing significant symptoms, I am not unhappy with the medical care, they performed the right tests, and gave me as comprehensive treatment as possible, but I asked several times and it was never coordinated to get me a bed when there were rooms available the entire time we were there. I don't fault my doctor who's overall care I was pleased with, I fault the communication and organization skills required to meet the basic care needs of anyone with chronic health issues.

I had to constantly ask or demand help for my girlfriend every 30 minutes or so for my girlfriend who was crying in pain for about 6 hours that we were there. It was like I was the manager there. Whenever I wasn't keeping an eye on the "nurses" working here. They were all talking to each other and trying to have fun like it's a high school lunch.

No matter how many times I tell the staff in multiple departments that I'm confused about what's going on, they continue to just use abbreviated words, and just tell me I'm responsible for making follow up appointments, even though I have no idea what test should be used because they are using hospital lingo and abbreviations.
Also It seems like no one is really interested in your situation.
You'd think that in a small community and slow hospital, you'd get great attentive responses or treatments. Instead, you get the bottom of the barrel service. I don't think any of them care if they lose "customers" to another location.

If I could give it zero stars I would. Took my father twice in two/three week time period and they released him. In addition, I followed up with surgeon following the first time he went to ER. They don't listen to your symptoms and they do not do a thorough exam to identify what is wrong.....they simply just want to release you as quickly as possible. After the second ER visit, I took my father to Sutter Sac knowing that something is really wrong and he had an abscess/major infection in which he stayed for 7 days. If your going to do a CT scan you may want to use the contrast! He was already in their care and they could have done that vs say come back to see a surgeon for a CT scan and contrast. I don't get it. He was already in their care getting a CT scan and they can't be thorough and include contrast? Not refer him to get one after the fact. I called to complain to let Sutter Amador know and they said they would investigate and get back to me. They never did! Do yourself a favor and take your love one to UC Davis or bigger hospital. They set my dads health back and I will never ever go back....Since no call back to my father, I will now file a formal grievance to get corrective action taken. I spoke to the person in charge of ER for about 30 minutes. She knows who she is and she said they would get back to us.

Care is based on if they're having a good/ bad day. One Dr is only there for a paycheck and it shows.

Love this emergency room so far. They had me in and out with my son. I am very grateful for the friendly staff.
