A great place all around! Love the Sheperd's Pie! The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the space is cozy and inviting. The place was packed on St Patrick's Day. It might be helpful to put a system/waitlist in place for seating during special holidays or big event days...

I absolutely loved The Burren House Pub! The food was incredible—everything was packed with flavor and felt like a true taste of Ireland. The fish and chips were perfectly crispy, and the stew was rich and comforting. But what really stood out was the atmosphere—warm, inviting, and full of character. Great attentive service and a lively Friday night crew. Arrive early cause this place will fill up quickly. My pints never reached the bottom before our wonderful server was back to our table, ready to get another Guinness. The wings were great and reasonably priced for the Bay Area. The chef came to check on our table which was greatly appreciated even being as busy on a Friday night and the bus boy asked us how our service was and was attentive throughout the night. Top notch overall. This place will be here a while, and a must check out if you’re in SR.

This is the prettiest restaurant in Marin. I absolutely loved having dinner there. The fish n chips is one of the best around. It's a giant flakey buttery white fish with a tasty beer batter coating. Served with hand cut fries, homemade tarter sauce and Cole slaw. My husband had the steak dinner. His thick well cut steak also came with hand cut fries, a baked stuffed tomato, mushrooms and a mushroom Madeira sauce. To die for. That sauce is a labor of love. Really impressive. I'm super happy with my dinner. Servers were great. Everyone working there was charming and welcoming. This place is highly recommended!!

We recently visited this new English/Irish pub and were impressed by the beautiful decor and inviting ambiance. The attention to detail in the design and craftsmanship clearly reflects the owners' care and dedication.

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing interaction with one of the bartenders. After finishing our first round of drinks, my wife and I sat at the bar waiting to order more. The friendly female bartender who initially served us seemed to be on break, and a tall, red-haired/bearded bartender was covering. Despite walking past me several times, he never acknowledged us. Even while standing nearby with his hands in his pockets, he didn’t seem to notice I was without a drink.

When I finally caught his attention and asked, “Excuse me, can I get another Guinness?” his response was, “I dunno, can you?” – said with a sarcastic tone. After being overlooked for so long, this reply felt dismissive and unprofessional.

As someone who has worked in the industry, I know that a key part of good service is ensuring patrons are taken care of, especially when they’re ready to order more. I wanted to keep spending money here, but the interaction left a bad impression. If I were the owner, I’d be concerned – one NEVER lets a customer’s drink sit empty – let alone make sarcastic remarks to customers.

I hope this was a one-off experience. If I return to Burren House, I’d prefer not to encounter the same attitude again.

We had a fantastic time at Burren House with a group of friends. The atmosphere was casual and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the Buffalo wings, sliders, fish tacos, fish and chips, and the complimentary soda bread - with Guinness and cocktails. The place was packed and has a super lively vibe. Can’t wait to return and so glad it’s open pub hours! There’s public parking structure directly behind the restaurant.
