Stay away from this place. Do not listen to the lies they fill you with when you come to tour. Management of this company is a complete joke, maintenance is a joke but I will give Paul credit for the few months he’s been here he is trying but his hands are tied with the horrible management of this company. I’m sure that’s why managers keep being changed. and apparently all they care about is collecting your rent at the first of the month. Being that this is our 2nd stint living at this property we voiced the concerns of why we left the first time and Debbie who was the manager at the time completely filled us with lies and promises about where the direction of this property was going to be taken……complete joke. Let’s start with move in day a year ago. My wife and I showed up with ALL OF OUR BELONGINGS on the set date agreed with the company to move in…..well guess what apparently EVERYBODY was unaware of that because we showed up to an apartment that was nowhere ready to rent. The previous resident has just moved out. There was actually someone in the apartment working when we showed up. To that I have almost 30 pictures of what the apartment looked liked on day 1. Their solution was to offer us an apartment that was not even equivalent to the apartment we were supposed to have even tho we had already had all utilities in our name for the other apartment. I rush job was done that day because in their words “they were going to do whatever they needed to do to make things right”, well that statement proved to be a joke also. We were promised better appliances than what we had and when asked about them it was like pulling teeth and we finally got a fridge slightly compared to what were were told we would have. SINCE DAY ONE of our move in month 8/2023 we had any issues. Concerns were made to management about this issue and tons of other issues. I’ve had to have tape on one of the electrical wall outlets in the kitchen because that’s the main place we found where the ants are entering the apartment. I explained the urgency of this because our daughter is allergic to ants. Pest control comes out and nothing gets better. 2 weeks ago pest control came after after we complained about ants yet again……now let’s fast forward to the conversation I just had with the assistant manager about those and other concerns. Pest control stated that they had put out some type of bait for the ants to take back to the colony to kill the queen. This morning I walked into the kitchen to see a large trail of ants around my kitchen countertops leading from the ELECTRICAL OUTLET WITH THE TAPE ON IT and they have made a trail halfway around my countertops. The assistant manager told me that pest control only comes out on Wednesdays and that they would put in a request for them to come back on NEXT WEDNESDAY!!! I told y’all this place was a joke. After showing the assistant manager the video of the ants I asked her what was I supposed to do about the ants for a week…..her response “go buy some cans of Raid ant spray and spray them on the counters.” My response to her was ma’am I’m tired of having to buy raid to kill ants. I asked her if the property would provide me with some raid at the cost of the property she immediately said no. I asked her to be reimbursed for the raid I would have to buy until next week she immediately said no. I asked her about getting tops or covered trash cans to help with the million of flies outside she said she doubts the property is going to buy trash cans. The apartments are poorly insulated and because so my a/c literally runs all day leaving me and other residents with high electricity bills. If you drive thru the property you will see plenty of apartments with window units, I wonder why?! When we moved in we asked could we put some plants or flowers out in the mulch beds surrounding the apartment o make it look better and we were told that the landscaping company would be taking care of all that, more lies. For the amount of rent being charged DON’T LEASE HERE, take your money where it’s appreciated!!!!!

I have had many experiences since I moved in on 12/28/23. MY personal experiences with (current maintenance) and (current Office staff) get 4-5 stars. Although, I have had so many negative experiences with the previous staff, but more than anything the walls are terribly thin and the bugs are horrible. I live downstairs underneath 4 adults with 3 children and 2 big dogs. It’s loud ALL OF THE TIME. EVERYWHERE. I used to be able to hear my next door neighbors before I got some quiet ones?I would give the THE COMPLEX AS A WHOLE 0 stars due to the old buildings, noise level, and bugs. I do not recommend these apartments, and I will suggest putting all money and ANYTHING of value up while maintenance is in your home (including while you are present or not). I have been blessed enough to have dealt with certain individuals on the current staff that have been able to assist me during my hardships and been quick to respond to my maintenance requests. I would personally give them 5 stars. Be safe out here y’all.

I’ve been living at The Retreat for about almost 2 months and overall, it’s been a great experience. The apartment I rented is the classic and it is spacious, and well-maintained, with an open floor plan and up-to-date kitchen appliances. The best thing is maintenance requests are addressed quickly by Justin, usually my issue is resolved the same day if not the next day. The location is convenient with shops, restaurants, and parks nearby. You get 2 parking spaces per unit which is nice. Overall, I’d recommend the Retreat for its comfort and convenience. My only recommendation is more dog stands for convenience of residents to clean up after their dogs and bigger trash bins per unit.

Booked an appointment through the website. Accidentally showed up to my appointment almost an hour early. Ms. Valerie and Mr. Hung provided myself and my partner with the best customer service. Ms. Valerie embodies the “face of the Retreat of Maumelle.” Having her be the first face you see when you enter your potential new home was the best decision any hiring team ever did. She did everything so strategically. She did everything with care, understanding, and intention. If you don’t believe me, go book an appointment and find out.

Mr. Hung has experience in real estate (the housing market to be exact). His role in my story was more of a “guardian angel.” Ms. Valerie is great alone, but Mr. Hung swooped in when necessary. He was doing his own thing in his office until he knew a piece of information was missing. Real life example: Ms. Valerie was informing us on the apartments availability and the deals that were listed on Apartments.com VS the active deals going on. I can not remember what answer she gave us, but Mr. Hung swooped in and answered so gracefully. (No way am I knocking Ms. Valerie) The point I’m making is they worked as a team for the same outcome without stepping on each other’s toes.

I could write a book with all the things I have to say about those two, but I wont. My experience is coming from the “application process.” I haven’t even moved in yet. The customer service is top tier. You don’t get that quality customer service anywhere. That factor alone made me want to sign the lease without even looking at the property.

To be crystal clear, the complex fits all of my needs, wants, and desires plus more. Clearly, I’m still stuck on the customer service. (Fun fact: Ms. Valerie made cookies and Mr. Hung brought us some while we were deliberating in private). They are amazing. Period. End of story.

Day 1 since my FIRST 1 star review...and I have still yet to hear from the property manager..oh and there are more issues with the apartment since yesterday.. And now the windows are soaked from the rain today.

Awesome place! I recommend this apartment or a Uhaul Box!

Due to the fact that we’re receiving charges for things we can’t control the wiring is faulty the paint was peeling off of the doors due to it being latex paint the lighting in the kitchen and the hallway doesn’t work like it’s supposed to and the lady Mrs. Valerie in the office is not good at communicating while I was telling her about my issues she got loud with me and stated telling me about how I’m not moving to another apartment and I had to tell her that wasn’t what I was trying to do I told her I just want to be comfortable where I have to lay my head at that’s all because I also told her we never received a check list to say what was all wrong with the apartment like other apartments give you it’s just done got to a point that I prefer not to even communicate with her due to her inability to talk to me without having an attitude I told her I wasn’t trying to make her mad and that I wasn’t trying to be disrespectful and she told me I’m making my Thanksgiving list on what I’m gone eat and I felt that she have at least heard me out I also told her about the bug problem that I was having and how they still haven’t came to spray I just want to be able to communicate like an adult not like a kid because we’re all adults in this situation and I just want to be respected at the end of the day because when I asked who was over the complex she said she was and I know that’s not true but I wasn’t trying to start a confrontation so I just held my tongue and left it alone because I know the complex has an owner but I was told that they don’t even get to talk to the owner but I feel like it needs better office people instead of someone that doesn’t respect the tenants

I just moved here but I can already tell you the best thing about this property is the Maintenance team. They are friendly, professional and they respond very fast. They also follow up which is something I love! All of the maintenance guys are extremely knowledgeable and they are just nice people. I give maintenance 5 stars!!!
