So excited to go see Wicked. My daughter purchased tickets 12 of us to go celebrate my birthday. We drove from Batesville and made a day of shopping lunch and the highlight of going to see wicked together! As a group we had seen it in theaters in locations like Chicago, NY, Memphis and London! So we were super excited for the movie screen version!
Only to be so disappointed by the theater we accidentally chose.
Filthy the second we walked in. No coke icee. Broken. Had to wait for popcorn to be popped. Like they didn’t know anyone would show up. We bought our tickets in advance. Paper towel rolls just sitting out by sinks so they were wet in the dirty bathroom.
Theater had broken rails and wasn’t cleaned in between showings.
Movie started. Very low sound. Asked for it to be turned up. No difference. Waited. First song. Horrible sound. Asked again. No difference. Asked again. Finally realized the wall mounted speakers were not working. Brought that to their attention. You’re right! We will fix it.
No change. Asked if they could fix it. ‘Nope’
Can we get a refund? It’s a musical and the music isn’t good not even radio quality. ‘No. No refunds allowed ever.’
Well we are disappointed. ‘You can go to another theater’. Excuse me? You can fix the sound ‘Not my job’. You can put the paper towels in the dispensers ‘can’t you see they are broken?’ Get them fixed ‘not my job’ can’t you do a maintenance request? How about clean the theater or clean the bathroom or clean up the pop corn over the floor out here? Not your job either?
How about you give me the owners phone number? ‘It’s posted outside’ write it down for me. ‘Not my job. I’m not writing it down so you can complain about me’. Not going to complain about you going to tell them to fire you.
Horrific attitude. Horrible manager. Not to mention she looked maybe 17. She knew nothing! Had no idea how to even turn on the sound system. No idea how to say I’m sorry. I would have been perfectly happy with an I’m sorry from a clearly incompetent teenager who was obviously not in charge of anything and could barely pop popcorn and keep her glasses on at the same time. I don’t think she should have even been responsible for locking up the place.
But smart mouth me Be rude Act like she was more important and intelligent? Like I was the demanding stupid person ‘No one else complained’
Honey I’ve lived in Dallas and gone to movie theaters in cities all over America. I know what to expect from a movie theater experience.

Cabot Cinema 8. $5.99 tickets advertised. Paid $85 for four tickets, two drinks, and a large bucket of popcorn. Asked about the ticket prices, Jaymes doesn't really know how to form a sentence this point as to why the movies aren't discounted, but then refused us a refund when we realized the prices. Once I called the "customer service" number which was apparently Laird's personal landline, I was met with "hello" followed by "Yep. Some movies aren't discounted." And was also refused a refund by him because asking where I could find a list of $5.99 showings was "argumentative". Jaymes said it was a discontinued promo, assuring us he would have “them” remove it, and Laird said it was only certain showings. We left, but not before being "BANNED FOR LIFEEE" by James. Poor Zoey standing there like a champ tho trying to just mind her business.

Listen, I don't work there. If you advertise a promo, don't make the customers jump through hoops to figure out how to get it. If James would have said,
"oh, and you know those aren't the $5.99 tickets today, right?" We would have simply chosen a different movie.
