The food was very nice, and to be able to try a new dessert is always great! I would say I enjoyed my time, but the girls were complaining about how cold it was sitting outside. I’d say it’s a good, one time thing unless you find something you really enjoy to come back to.

This replaces SEA 180. I had breakfast overlooking the ocean seating outside. The overhead heaters work well.

I had the Eggs in Purgatory. It was an egg on top a bread bowl with a tomato paste and sprinkles of cheese on the inside.

This place has so much potential. The food was excellent, but the service was poor. Left because no one came over to help us even though they had talked to us and had told us where to sit. We ended up coming back because we really wanted to watch the sunset and this was the one spot you can do it on the beach .
We finished our full pints of waters before our ordered drinks came out. The beer came out first then we waited another few minutes for the wine. It was impossible to even have a "cheers" together for the sunset. The view of the beach is awesome, but the glass you look through is absolutely filthy. I have lived at the beach, and you really have to clean glass everyday, because everyday it mists and sea air is sticky because of the salt. Someone had attempted to clean it because there were rag marks and dirty water streaks. But obviously they didn't know what they were doing, and they made a mess. There is sand all over the floors, the tables, the chairs, and this really needs to be vacuumed or brushed every single day before service begins. No one wants to brush sand off their table or chair when they sit down. Our plates were dirty, it was impossible to get water refills, and all in all things were just not up to par. Some training is needed, and it will be a great place.

Amazing breakfast! I’m a hard 5 star reviewer. I reserve this for perfection. First time here on a Monday morning. Had chilaquiles. Best I’ve had north of the boarder. Beautiful view right on the beach. For us quiet

Toasted Gastropub opened yesterday here in Imperial Beach inside Pier South Hotel Resort, replacing the previous restaurant that closed two days prior.

It felt ike they rushed into opening — which they did as they opened the day immediately following the closure of the previous restaurant — they clearly didn’t clean, didn’t take the time to change the kitchen over to make it their own, didn’t work with the staff prior to opening so the staff knew what to expect in terms of the menu, etc. I’m super surprised they didn’t close for like a week to do these kinds of things and more to really make it a different experience in at least some ways.

Regarding the food, it was mediocre. It was definitely not anything extra fabulous and I’m not sure I’ll be going there on a regular basis, even though I live about 2.5 away.

I had the French omelette, which was decent but nothing super special.

Everything was too salty for my liking.

I was not happy about the fact that they didn’t really have any healthy options on the breakfast menu with the exception of avocado toast or a yogurt parfait with fruit that came with a croissant. Other than avocado (which is a fruit) and tomato slices and lettuce on their burgers and some sandwiches, they had no other vegetables whatsoever in any of their breakfast dishes nor did they offer any solid vegetarian options as part of their lunch menu. There are no salads on their daytime menu — their breakfast/brunch/lunch menu ends at 4:00 PM then they have an evening menu that’s does offer salad options, however.

The price wasn’t exorbitant, especially given I was in a touristy spot in a “fancy” hotel here. So there’s that!

The best thing about this place is the view!

Billy is welcoming, warm, and kind. Enrique made so amazing green bloody Marys! We really enjoyed talking to Javier. He is so cool! Adrian was a cutie. Bonnie makes an amazing Lavender Lemon Drop! 🍋

I had the veggie hash, and Gary had the short rib Benny. The Benny comes with these amazing fried mashed potato balls they import from France. The new GM, Jennifer, was really cool, and she loves Bridgeton.

We will definitely be back!!

I’m an avid toasted regular. The wife and I always go to the La Mesa location. Today we decided to try this location (Imperial Beach). With it being a soft opening, there is a limited menu. Everything we had tasted was amazing. Chef A is amazing and his staff well trained. Everything we ordered came out quickly and instagram pic ready. We will definitely be back with a bunch of our friends.

Oh god, where do I even start? Hot mess express from the beginning. They took over the Sea 180 spot and I've been hesitant about checking it out as I've heard mixed reviews. They didn't do any cleaning or replacement of anything. Just took over an already run down unclean restaurant. Hubs and I went on our walk and decided to pop in as we had a Synergy gift card for $50. I had no intention of eating as it smelled of old breakfast food upon entering. It was about 11:30 on a Friday. Disorganized front desk/hostess team who didn't seem to know right from left. We were seated outside. Lovely, of course. Took forever for the server to come over. Asked for water, iced tea, and a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. Took the server a good 5 min to type it in the machine thingy. 10 min later, no water, or drinks. I flagged the server down in an very uncrowded restauant, maybe 5 tables taken, and ask for the water. She said it was coming out. I mean, I could see it behind me, I should've just got up and got it myself. Then the tea comes with melted ice and my warm dirty martini with regular olives. I'd asked the server where the blue cheese olives were and she said they must not of had any. Umm I probably wouldn't have ordered that drink. Anyway, she finally took the food order. Hubs got the Cobb salad and "waygu" burger. Food came out 20 min later. Not sure why. Food was cold, fries were cold and old. "Waygu" burger was clearly a frozen non "waygu" patty. Overcooked and oozed this weird red stuff. Maybe bbq sauce? Cold, old, and disgusting. The Cobb salad was mediocre at best. Dry hard chicken and drenched in dressing. I wish I took a photo of it. The burger was shared with hubby and was inedible. That was my half. They also had a difficult time figuring out how to use the gift card. Get your ish together Toasted. We tipped 20% and won't be back. Such a shame as we love patronizing the local businesses.
